What Money by Waoo keeps, who can see it, and how to take it back.
In effect from October 17, 2026
What this covers
Money by Waoo keeps track of your money: the bank accounts you link, their transactions and balances, and the budgets, goals, paychecks, debts, investments and vehicles you plan around them. This page says plainly what is stored, where it lives and what you can do about it.
Your account is a Waoo Network account and works across every Waoo app. Signing in to Money does not give your financial data to the other apps - it is only ever read back to the account that linked it.
What is stored
- Your account - Email address, name if you give one, and a password stored only as a one-way hash. Sign-in tokens are held in your browser or the app and expire.
- Linked banks - For each bank you link through Plaid: the institution, account names and types, the last digits of each account number, balances, transactions, and for investment and loan accounts their holdings and payment details. Your bank sign-in never reaches us; you type it into Plaid's own screens.
- What you add - Budgets, categories, goals, paychecks and your employer's pay details, debts, vehicles, notes, and accounts you track by hand.
- Statements and receipts - Files you upload to an account or a transaction, with the date, statement period and closing balance you confirm for each. Those figures are read from a statement in your browser before it uploads, so the form can fill them in for you to check.
- Usage measurement - Which pages are opened and which actions complete, so the product can be improved. This is aggregate behaviour, not your transactions or balances.
What is never done with it
Your financial data is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers, and it is not used to train models or to decide anything about you, such as credit. Nobody browses it. It is only ever shown back to you.
We will hand data to law enforcement only where the law actually requires it, and will tell you when we are permitted to.
Who else touches it
- Plaid - Connects your bank. You sign in to your bank in Plaid's own flow, and Plaid passes us the account, balance, transaction, investment and loan details listed above. Plaid handles your data under its own End User Privacy Policy. Unlinking a bank in Money and choosing Delete all data ends Plaid's access to it.
- Hosting - Servers and storage we operate, behind a content delivery network that terminates traffic and blocks abuse.
- Email - A transactional email provider, used for sign-in, verification and anything you ask us to send. Marketing email is opt-in only.
- Market prices - The benchmark your investments are compared against is fetched by our servers from a public market data source. Nothing about you or your accounts is sent with it.
- Analytics - Google Analytics, measuring page views and completed actions. It never receives your accounts, balances or transactions.
The Money app for Android
The Android app shows this website, so everything above applies to it too. On the phone it also does the following:
- Connecting a bank. In the app, bank connections use Plaid's own Android Link. To secure the connection, Plaid may collect information about the phone, such as its model and operating system, under Plaid's End User Privacy Policy.
- Files you save. A statement or receipt you download is saved to the phone's Downloads folder, where other apps on the phone can open it.
- App lock. If you turn it on, Android checks your fingerprint, face or the phone's PIN. The app never receives or stores them, and the setting stays on the phone.
- Error reports. When the app fails, it sends us a report of the fault with the phone's make and model, its Android version and the app's version. It contains no account or financial details.
The app does not use your location, contacts or microphone. A photo or file you pick goes only where you upload it.
What you can do
- Take it with you - Download any statement or receipt from the page it is on. Wherever the law gives you a right to a copy of your personal data, write to us and we will send you all of it.
- Delete it - Unlink a bank and choose Delete all data to remove its accounts, transactions, balances, statements and investment data; delete a statement or receipt from where it is shown. Delete your account explains how to close the account and remove everything stored with it. Deletion is permanent.
- Correct it - Recategorize, rename and edit anything in the app. If something is wrong that you cannot reach, write to us.
- Ask - Any question about your data goes to [email protected] and gets a human answer.
How long it is kept
Your financial data is kept for as long as the bank stays linked and your account exists, so you can look back over your history. Deleted records are retained briefly in backups before ageing out.
Children
Money by Waoo is not meant for children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold the data of anyone under 13.
Cookies
Sign-in uses a cookie so your session survives a page refresh; without it the app cannot keep you signed in. Analytics sets its own cookie. Nothing here follows you to other sites.
